Bee School Portal (for current students)
If you’re interested in becoming a beekeeper, or you’re a new beekeeper looking to gain more information, our annual Bee School is a great place to start. This North Carolina State Beekeepers Association (NCSBA)-approved course provides an overview of beekeeping and prepares you to keep bees. No prior experience is required to take the course.
This is a 22-hour course, held in person. The structured classes start on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and will continue each Tuesday evening from approximately 6:30pm to 8:30pm through March 28 with a Field Day on Saturday, April 1. Classes are held in the Alamance County Center in Burlington.
Please note that the 2023 class is now full. The next course will be in January 2024.
We would also like to announce that in 2023, the Alamance County Farm Bureau will again be sponsoring a Cost-Share program. This is a program whereby a limited number of people are awarded two hives each, along with a package of bees for each hive. Information for how to apply to this program will be covered on the first evening of class.
